In this podcast Mary Mahoney discusses how she would guide a novice WOC Nurse transitioning from a staff nurse role in their same facility as well as starting at a new hospital. Whether you are a new or experience WOC Nurse, this podcast can provide insight while you transition, or you are helping someone transition!

Mary Mahoney is a Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) nurse at UnityPoint at Home, where she and her WOC team use their expertise to consult and collaborate with field clinicians providing care to patients in their homes via telehealth.  She is also adjunct faculty with the WEBWOC Nursing Education Program.  Mary is Past President and Board Member of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB). She has served as member and chair of the WOCN Society Ostomy Committee. Her other roles include peer review, poster review, and document revision for the WOCN Society and Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC). She has authored several articles for the Journal of Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing and has spoken at National conferences. Mary has also served on numerous committees for the Iowa Affiliate of the WOCN Society.
